ETS Laboratory

ETS operates one of the largest full-service professional geotechnical and materials testing engineering laboratories in the area. Our spacious on-site lab is fully equipped for plant control, construction quality control, and materials design, including; concrete, asphalt, soils, and soil-cement, and validated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Geotechnical testing capabilities include aggregates, asphalt materials, masonry, grout, brick and block, concrete foundations, steel, and fireproofing. In addition, ETS is enrolled in proficiency sample testing program coordinated through AASHTO materials reference laboratory (AMRL).
The ETS laboratory is equipped with facilities for moist-curing and storage of field-prepared concrete cylinders in accordance with ASTM E 329. Additionally our Test Mark Industries, Inc concrete compression machine is equipped with a capacity of 250,000 pounds and gauge buster. The gauge buster/MegaForce combination automatically controls the loading rate and measures the comprehensive strength of concrete cylinders in accordance with ASTMC39.
CBR, Unconfined, and Triaxial testing are conducted by state-of-the-art Humboldt Digital Masterloader Machine, HM-3000.3F.AU Laboratory test results are generated electronically
Most importantly all of our technicians are ACI and/or VDOT certified to conduct soils and concrete testing and our laboratory equipment is calibrated annually by Professional Calibration, Inc.
